Taxis are easily obtainable in Dubai. Metered taxis are run by Cars Taxis, Metro Taxis, National Taxis and government-owned Dubai Transport Corporation operates numerous bus routes throughout the emirate, serving the main residential and commercial areas, as well as some destinations outside the city.

Many hotels provide regular shuttle buses that follow set routes around Dubai. Car rental companies require a passport copy and a valid international driving license for all renters coming from: Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, UK and USA. Driving is on the right hand side of the road.

When the customers wishes to call a taxi he dials (+971 4) 2080808 and the reservation takes place automatically with the option of determining the time when the customer needs the taxi whether immediately or later.
